Did you make a new years resolution? Wait, read this

Resolutions don’t work. If they did we wouldn’t be making them every year :-) Instead:
• Think of the one thing that would make you happiest if it came true (your vision)
• Decide what one small thing you can do right now toward getting it (action plan)
• Suspend disbelief temporarily (it’s too hard, I’m not smart enough, I’ll try tomorrow. This stops 99% of us)
• Think about your vision every single chance you get (especially when someone tells you, “you can’t”)
• Tell everyone your vision and why you want it to come true (tell people who’ll keep you accountable- mentors)

And remember the most important thing; you’re amazing! Really. If you don’t believe it, no one will.

Plan on having a few drinks this new years eve? Read this to feel better

First, enjoy yourself this new years eve. If you plan on having a drink or five :-) don’t beat yourself up about it. Many of my clients worry themselves about an act they haven’t committed yet and then end up not enjoying their indulgent behavior. That’s a recipe for frustration and failure. Just remember that the average glass of wine or hard alcohol has 90 cals while mixed drinks can have 300 to 1000 cals. So decide how much you’ll have while still feeling good, exercise and eat great before the party, and focus on how great 2010 will be for you!
